Musaeus College Past Pupils Association Minutes of Annual General Meeting
September 26, 2004
The AGM was held at Mimi Maskorala’s residence in Markham, Ontario on September 26th 2004.
Present
Niranjala DeSilva, Ramya Fernando, Vinitha Kahandaliyanage, Champika Ambepitiyage,
Rashika Wijemanne, Rupa Dissanayake, Manisha Liyanagesinha, Nadika Opatha and Mimi Maskorala
Opening
President of the Association, Ramya Fernando called the meeting to order and
thanked all members present, for attending the AGM.
Reading of the past Minutes:
Past minutes were not available.
New Appointments:
Appointment of new office bearers for the year 2005. Nominated Mimi Maskorala
as the President and Secretary by Vinitha Kahandaliyanage. Nominated Nadika Opatha as the Treasurer by Ramya Fernando.
Niranjala and Nadika agreed to meet separately to notify the bank of the change
to office bearers and signing authority.
It was decided at the AGM that the treasurer will be the only signatory for
the cheques
Matters Arising:
Nadika Opatha suggested, as a committee we should congratulate any achievements
among committee members. Will send an email on behalf of the committee congratulating Thushani Suduwalikanda on taking the
oath as an attorney at law
Treasure’s Report:
The treasurer presented the report on the Financial Statements for the year
ending August 31, 2004.
Membership fees were collected from members.
Other Matters Discussed:
Rashika suggested to have an up-to-date website with up coming events and
announcements. Secretary will start updating the existing website, which is http://mcppa.tripod.com
Everyone in the committee agreed to meet more often through planned trips
and Pot Lucks.
JANUARY, 2005 - Bus trip to Casino Rama - Lead by Mimi with team
support
MARCH, 2005 - Potluck and a gathering at Rupa Dissanayake’s
residence in Hamilton, Ontario. Up coming events will be discussed on this day.
The AGM came to a close at around 5:30 pm.
